Cardenal Urosa Savino cedió su puesto al Papa Francisco tras cumplir 75 años

Este lunes 28 de agosto el Arzobispo de Caracas, el cardenal Jorge Urosa Savino, dejó su cargo a disposición del Papa Francisco, ya que según el canon 401.1 del Código de Derecho Canónico de la Iglesia, luego de cumplir 75 años, pasas a condición de retiro.

Urosa Savino cumplió 75 años y por ende, debe abandonar las funciones que les fueron conferidas en el año 2005.

Según el reglamento, no hay un plazo determinado para que el Sumo Pontífice nombre a su sucesor. Sin embargo, conocedores del mundo eclesiástico afirmaron que esto se realizará "antes de culminar el año" en curso.
